K.C. Care Homes was established by two dedicated individuals with extensive expertise in supporting vulnerable young people. Drawing upon our wealth of experience and knowledge, we are confident in our ability to establish a nurturing home environment specifically tailored to meet the unique needs of our most vulnerable children.

Our home is a warm and inviting family-run therapeutic residential home dedicated to providing a secure haven for young people in need. Our mission is to create a supportive environment where every child can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.
How are Homes Work
At K.C homes, we understand the importance of a family-oriented approach in the healing process. Our committed and experienced staff members function as a cohesive team, embodying the principles of care, empathy, and understanding. We take pride in cultivating a sense of belonging and connection, making our residence feel like a true home for every child under our care.
Our primary objective is to offer stability and holistic support to each young person entrusted to us. Therefore, each resident at K.C homes, can engage with a therapist who will offer professional guidance and support, aiding them in overcoming challenges and promoting growth.

Frog House
Description would say – Frog House is an Ofsted registered home which can support one child/young person of either sex aged from between 7-17. Frog House is a modernised terraced house located just outside of wigan town centre

Kevin Harper
Business development manager/ Operation Director
In his role as Business Development Manager, Kevin contributes his expertise in overseeing the business's operations. With a background as a former OFSTED-rated "Outstanding" Teacher, he brings 25 years of valuable experience in working with children and young people. Additionally, Kevin manages a distinguished Martial Arts Facility, recognized as the Muay Thai Gym of the Year in 2023.
Carl Atherton
Responsible Individual/ Operations Director
Assuming the role of Responsible Individual (RI) and Operations Director, Carl brings a wealth of experience as a social worker and children's therapist. Additionally, he extends his dedication by serving as a foster carer for both long-term and respite placements. Carl's extensive background uniquely positions him to fulfil the crucial role of K.C. Care Homes' Responsible Individual, providing professional oversight across all properties under the K.C. Care Homes umbrella. His multifaceted expertise ensures a comprehensive and compassionate approach to the well-being of the children entrusted to our care. Carl is passionate and highly enthusiastic, a trait picked up on by all staff. His infectious drive to do the best for children and young people is mirrored by our staff across our homes.
Sean
Registered Manager
As the Registered Manager at K.C. Homes, Sean has ascended from his beginnings as an apprentice support worker, gaining comprehensive knowledge of every facet of care along the way. With a keen understanding of the layers of care provision, Sean brings invaluable experience in service registration, crisis intervention, and maintaining structure in both single and multi-bedded services. He is a highly esteemed member of our team, known for his professionalism, approachability, and friendliness with staff.
Sean is a Qualified Team Teach Tutor with a commendable 9 years of experience supporting children and young people. His proven background in staff development underscores his commitment to fostering growth and achieving positive outcomes within the team and, ultimately, for the individuals under our care.
