Our Therapeutic Approach

Our care is grounded in trauma‑informed practice, recognising the impact of early adversity on emotional development, behaviour, and relationships.

We provide:

  • Therapeutic support informed by PACE and TRM
  • A range of therapeutic interventions tailored to individual need
  • Clinical oversight from a psychologist and CBT Therapist, ensuring therapeutic consistency and reflective practice
  • Structured routines that promote safety, stability, and regulation

Therapy is not seen as a separate activity, but embedded throughout daily life, relationships, and routines within the home.

Who We Are

KC Care Homes Ltd provides highly specialist residential care for children and young people aged 7–17 with complex emotional, behavioural, and neurodevelopmental needs.

Our home is designed as a solo placement, enabling each young person to receive fully individualised care, free from the pressures and risks that can arise in group settings. With a 2:1 staffing model, young people benefit from consistency, predictability, and strong therapeutic relationships.

We are proud to be Ofsted regulated and rated GOOD, reflecting our commitment to high standards of care, safeguarding, and positive outcomes.

Alternative & Movement Based Therapy

We recognise that some young people engage best through physical, practical, and experiential approaches.

Our martial arts gym provides:

  • A safe outlet for emotional expression
  • Opportunities to develop self‑control, discipline, and confidence
  • Support with emotional regulation and stress management
  • A positive identity built around achievement and perseverance

This forms part of our holistic therapeutic model, complementing traditional and relational therapeutic approaches.

Safeguarding & Regulation

Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do.

  • Ofsted regulated children’s home
  • Rated GOOD at our most recent inspection
  • Robust safeguarding, behaviour support, and risk management frameworks
  • Policies and procedures aligned with current legislation and best practice
